====== June 15, 2023 General Election ======
The June 15, 2023 General Election is an upcoming election in the Republic of Melonia. This election was the first time that [[officials:therandommelon|Michael Webb]] did not run as a presidential candidate, instead running for the Speaker of Parliament position. As such, this election would be the first time that new presidential candidates would run, which currently only include the current Speaker of Parliament, [[officials:tz_scion|tz_scion]].

==== Presidential Election ====
On May 26th, 2023, after many months of rumors it was announced that the Speaker of Parliament, [[officials:tz_scion|tz_scion]], would be running for the President in the Republic of Melonia. Scion's running mate is former Member of Parliament, current Judge and CalvinBall Party founder, [[officials:calvinx|CalvinX2]]. The current President of Melonia, [[officials:therandommelon|Michael Webb]], decided not to run against tz_scion this election, choosing to focus his efforts elsewhere in the government, running for the position of Speaker.

==== Speaker of Parliament Election ====
The first citizen to announce their candidacy for the Speaker of Parliament was the founder and former Kaiser of the Cieurnish Empire, Tavatone vul Cieurnia.
This was followed by Member of Parliament and founder of the United Republic Front, [[officials:legate|Legate]], then by the current President of Melonia, [[officials:therandommelon|Michael Webb]]. For the first time, there were no incumbents for the Speaker of Parliament race.

====Member of Parliament Election ====
There are three incumbents running for the Member of Parliament for the upcoming election, [[officials:isokamikaze|IsoKamikaze]], [[officials:cstro216|cstro216]], and [[officials:buzzy_the_bee|Buzzy_The_Bee]]. There are also three new candidates for the Member of Parliament position. One of these candidates would be Prime Minister and co-founder of the CalvinBall Party, [[officials:awedball545|awedball]]. Another candidate is current government worker, Pud. The last candidate is a newcomer to the Melonian government, MisterOsbam.
