**Bannerman**, also known by his Cieurnish title **Bannerman vul Cieurnia**, is a current Member of Parliament and Minister of Arts and Culture. He was the Member of Parliament for the Expansia district in the [[civics:melonia|Republic of Melonia]]. He was elected by the Expansian citizens on July 15, 2022. He was also formerly the [[civics:melonia:ministry:tax-collection|Secretary of Tax Collection]] in Melonia. He was appointed to that position by [[officials:therandommelon|President Michael Webb]], who created the position to enforce the property tax. The position was abolished by a Parliament vote on July 15, 2022 and all responsibilities of that position are now under the Minister of Finance. Bannerman also founded the [[parties:pg|Parteife Grejta]] on June 29, 2022, which is now defunct due to Bannerman relinquishing Melonian citizenship.
Bannerman is currently the Kaijer of the [[civics:cieurnia|Cieurnish Empire]], meaning he is their total leader.

Bannerman did not do too much during his very brief time as the Secretary of Tax Collection in an official sense, although he was instrumental in the past couple of Senate meetings in suggesting new ideas.
==== Run for Expansian Senate (June 30, 2022-July 15, 2022) ====
Bannerman ran for the Senate seat of Expansia, and won on July 15, 2022. In the campaign, he stated that he intended to bring referendums from citizens into Melonian law; basically, allowing citizens to gather enough signatures to get an item passed into law via a citizen vote. He also advocated for Cieurnish culture and ideals, and wanted to add Cieurnish as an official language of Melonia, in addition to English and Melonyc.

==Involvement in enacting a Melonian Republic (July 15, 2022-July 29, 2022)==
M.P. Bannerman was strongly in support of enacting a claim of the entire world (except the Taladosian colony) and naming the land "the Melonian Republic". This idea, now the official government of the Republic of Melonia, was a nation that would use a semi-presidential system. In this system, people elect two people for the two positions, the same as the old City government; a President and a Member of Parliament to represent them. The President appoints a Prime Minister, who is head of the cabinet, and then the PM appoints a cabinet, which has to be approved by the Parliament. The Parliament would approve the Prime Minister.
The President is the head-of-state, mostly doing things like executing foreign affairs, giving speeches, being allowed to expunge criminals, etc, etc, while the Prime Minister runs the day-to-day affairs of the government, and would more directly affect citizens. The Parliament can kick the Prime Minister or any Cabinet members out at any time with a majority “vote of no confidence”.
This support led to the renaming of all government positions to match the new government, which is why Bannerman's former title is “Member of Parliament” instead of Senator. ==== Resignation (July 29, 2022) ====
Bannerman, who was M.P. for the district of Expansia at the time, decided to officially resign from his position on July 29, 2022 due to "differences" that "cannot be reconciled" in terms of foreign policy relations with the "MRP-led Melonian government", according to his official resignation letter that was published by the President's Office on the day of his resignation. He also decided to renounce his Melonian citizenship due to these differences.
==== Founding the Cieurnish National Party (Parteife Grejta) (June 29, 2022) ====
Bannerman, along with [[officials:josephinemira|Vice Mayor JosephineMira]], founded the [[parties:pg|Parteife Grejta]] on June 29, 2022. In the official political party filing, the Cieurnish National Party stated that they advocated for Cieurnish nationalism and direct democracy. They also stated that their political leaning is center-left. The party is now defunct due to Bannerman renouncing his Melonian citizenship.
==== Personal Melonian Activities ====
Bannerman was in the process of building his own house, which was located on 4 Baker Street in Haigdin. However, he renounced his Melonian citizenship due to the difference in foreign policy matters between him and other Melonian government officials on July 29, 2022. Therefore, all of his assets, including the Parteife Grejta and his two properties were seized by the Melonian government. With the permission of the sole remaining member of the PG, JosephineMira, the PG was officially dissolved. Bannerman's other assets are still controlled by the Melonian government. However, they will likely be auctioned off at a later date.
