The Falldemic is an ongoing epidemic in the Republic of Melonia.
It began on May 24th, 2023, when Legate fell repeatedly to their death nine times. It then afflicted tz_scion, TheGoldenPud, NeoLiff, IsoKamikaze, and Cstro, who all fell to their horrible and gruesome deaths. It continued to spread throughout the Republic, and was even contracted by foreign leader JosephineGrey, who was visiting Melonia to attend the Melonian anniversary celebrations, who died twice.
On June 23rd, President Scion took a state visit to Velsor. However, he had unknowingly contracted the Falldemic, and spread it to Velsor.
Due to the Melonian server having the gamerule KeepInventory enabled, the Falldemic has only minimally impacted the Republic of Melonia.
The causes of the Falldemic are theorized to be the tendancy to not wear armor in Melonia, as well as the relative lack of feather falling boots among players.
As of the writing of this article, fifty Melonians and two Velsorans have succumbed to their deaths at the hands of the Falldemic.
