Scion, also known by his username tz_scion, is the current President, Minister of Finance, Minister of Architecture and Minister of State of the Republic of Melonia. He was appointed to the Minister position by President Michael Webb on July 15, 2022, and unanimously confirmed by the Parliament. He was the Senator (now named “Member of Parliament”) for the district of Expansia. He was elected to that position after running unopposed on May 30, 2022. He was re-elected without opposition on June 15, 2022. He was then defeated by Bannerman on July 15, 2022. Scion was placed back in the position on July 29, 2022 by President Michael Webb after Bannerman resigned and renounced his Melonian citizenship. He was unopposed for holding this Parliament seat after the August 15, 2022 elections, but after now-former Prime Minister Mira announced their resignation from the PM position, President Webb decided to appoint Scion to replace Mira. Scion held the Prime Minister position from August 15, 2022 - February 15, 2023.

Scion helped found the Melonian Representative Party. However, he left the party he helped start on February 1, 2023, after having a disagreement with MRP leader Michael Webb regarding some economic policy issues. He joined the CalvinBall Party instead. This led President Webb to choose a new Prime Ministerial candidate: former M.P. SNHK.

However, SNHK, on February 8, 2023, during a live-streamed and recorded Speakership Debate, attempted to assassinate Scion on stage. In response, President Webb removed SNHK as a candidate and chose Minister of Science awedball to be his candidate instead. Scion ran for the Speaker of Parliament role in the February 15, 2023 election, representing the CalvinBall Party. Scion was elected in a close race against incumbent lainuel for Speaker of Parliament in that election, and has held the Speakership since then.

Prime Minister awedball appointed tz_scion as Minister of State and Minister of Architecture on February 16, 2023. He was unanimously confirmed for both positions by Parliament.

Scion was the 2nd Speaker of Parliament from February 15, 2023 until June 15, 2023. In this time, he helped grow the Speaker position into a stronger force in Melonian politics by enforcing Parliament rules and making sure citizens stayed involved in Parliament dealings by inviting them to each meeting. He ran for President unopposed in the June 15, 2023 election instead of standing for a 3rd Speaker term, however.

Scion started his tenure as a Senator by helping to pass the first 6 laws in Melonia history. He wrote three of the early bills; the Property Tax Act, the Criminal Code and the first Constitutional Amendment (which standardized treaties and wars). Scion has also been vocal on many important government issues that have arisen. Many of his ideas ended up being adapted into the amended laws that eventually passed.

Scion has approved the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Taladosia.

Scion wrote two more laws that all passed in the first legislative term; the Business Code and the Naturalization Act. The Business Code established the official registration of businesses, allowing an easier way to manage them for both the business owner and the Melonian government. The Naturalization Act established an official path for people from foreign nations to be naturalized into the city of Melonia. Both of these bills are fundamental to how Melonia functions today.

Scion wrote 6 bills in his second term that have passed in the Senate and become official law. Below is an overview of each one.

Currency Act (co-written with President Michael Webb) The Currency Act established the official currency of Melonia, separated into three denominations that grow in value; melits, melings, and mikes respectively. 64 of the smaller denomination equals one bigger denomination; for example, 64 melits equals 1 meling. This currency is beginning to come into existence, being used by businesses mainly at the moment.

Criminal Procedure Act This bill established how criminal trials work. Criminal trials have a judge and a jury. Each side of the case will be able to have an opening statement, witness questioning, and a closing statement. The jury will then deliberate on the case, make their verdict, and if needed, the judge will sentence the person.

Flag Code (co-written with M.P. cstro) The Flag Code establishes the official procedure of how a Melonian flag is made, and how it and other flags in the city are displayed. For example, if someone has an alternative flag, they must fly a Melonian flag with it. Embassies are exempted from this rule.

Borough and Zoning Act This act establishes boroughs and zoning. There are two boroughs at the moment; Downtown and Haigdin. It allows the government to distribute funds more properly as needed to these areas. Zoning allows the government to decide what type of buildings can go up on a plot of land, even before any building is built there. The government can remove a building from an area if it violates the zone.

Amendment to Naturalization Act This amendment to the Naturalization Act removed the requirement for naturalized citizens to wait a certain number of days in order to be allowed to do things such as run for public office.

Constitutional Amendment III This amendment to the Melonian Constitution changed how Senate meetings work. It removes the requirement for all Senators to be present, allowing the Vice Mayor and other government officials to take the place of a Senator for a meeting. It allows the Mayor to lead a meeting instead of the Vice Mayor in this instance as well.

Scion wrote several more bills before the end of his term, all made up of amendments to existing bills except for his last bill as a Senator; the Budget Reduction Act. This codified into law having budgets, and creating the budget that the City of Melonia currently uses.

Scion has pushed extensively for the construction of Haigdin, a borough just across the bridge located on Interstate 69. He has established a business there called Steak King, which sells food products such as steak and pork. He is hoping in the future to expand Haigdin further, making it into a flourishing commercial area.

Minister Scion has carried out the execution of tax collection and giving out income since taking his position as Minister of Finance. He led the public work of Interstate 420 and Webb Road, and was a main contributor to the 8/11/2022 economic plans.

Scion took this position back from former M.P. Bannerman after Bannerman resigned on July 29, 2022. Since then, Scion wrote several bills, but the most important accomplishment was helping to write pretty much the entirety of the new Constitution for the Republic of Melonia.

There were a few bills that he wrote in this term that did affect citizens in a bigger way, however. The Unemployment Protection Act (Bill #37) provides unemployment benefits to all Melonian citizens who are unemployed and log on to the server at least once per week. The Fire Inhibition Act (Bill #39) requires that all buildings with flammable roofs and/or walls have a lightning rod installed on the top of the property. The Corporate Income Act (Bill #40) provides assistance to companies and organizations who do not bring in a revenue of 1,280 melits or more by giving them money that makes their revenue then equal to 1,280 melits.

On October 16, 2022, Melonia engaged with a war against the Cieurns in Najtraunas now called the One Hour War, due to its short length. The Melonian Legion, under former Minister of State JosephineMira's command, burned down bridges and killed several Najtraunians.

After agreeing to a peace deal with Bannerman, the Cieurnish Minister of Foreign Affairs, President Michael Webb immediately ordered Prime Minister Scion to fire JosephineMira for causing a bloody war with a good ally. Scion immediately did so. For more information on the war itself, see the article.

Since the fallout of the One Hour War, Scion has worked tirelessly to restore Cieurno-Melonian relations by agreeing to give up more land for Najtraunas, to provide resources to them, and pledged to negotiate a brand new treaty with the Cieurns, which is still a work-in-progress. He has been instrumental in all of these talks as he has been filling in as Minister of State since Mira's firing.

Scion wrote numerous laws in his time as Prime Minister, including multiple Constitutional Amendments and the Criminal Code.

On October 30th, Scion created the Ministry of Architecture and appointed IsoKamikaze as its Minister. The idea for this ministry had been discussed before in government, but never implemented until this point. After poor performance by IsoKamikaze, Scion fired him on December 2nd, and he leads this ministry on his own to this day.

On January 25th, Scion created the Ministry of Science and appointed awedball as its Minister.

On February 1, 2022, President Michael Webb announced that he would not appoint Scion as Prime Minister, meaning his term would end on February 15, 2022. Following this announcement, Scion would declare candidacy for Speaker of the House, running against Speaker lainuel.

Scion was just elected as Speaker, so it is yet to be seen exactly what he does or how he will do it in Parliament. However, he has promised in public talks on the Melonia Discord server that as Speaker, his “duty is to be open to everyone's ideas” and that “if [he] were to have political biases, it would undermine the meaning of the position and lead to worse leadership.”

Scion was just elected as President, so it is yet to be seen exactly what he does or how he will do it.

Scion, along with President Michael Webb and M.P. cstro, founded the Melonian Representative Party on June 29, 2022. On February 1, 2023, Scion left the Melonian Representative Party to join the CalvinBall Party.

Scion is a major advocate of Agronian expansion, and wants to establish many roads and properties there, one of which being the Agronia Convention Center, which is planned to be a public property where general ceremonies and meetings can be held. He also wants a suburb to be built in southern Haigdin.

Scion currently lives on 1 Gen Avenue in Haigdin with Awedball, which is a house that Scion built. He also built the house located on 5 Main Street, which is one of the oldest houses in Melonia, being built on May 30th. Scion owns multiple business. He owns Steak King, which specializes in selling food products such as steak and cod in a convenient manner, Scion Legal, a law firm, and MineCo., which is a shop that sells mined goods. Scion has also done a lot of work regarding the culture of Melonia, such as writing and composing the Melonian National Anthem, and creating Melonyc, the national language of Melonia. Scion is also a part of the MBC News team.
