Michael Webb (known as TheRandomMelon) is the current President of the Republic of Melonia. He ran unopposed for the position, which used to be called Mayor, on May 30, 2022, with his running mate (at the time), JosephineMira). He was again elected unopposed on June 15, 2022, with the same running mate as well. This repeated for the July 15, 2022 election as well. He is also one of the founders and the current party leader of the Melonian Representative Party.

Webb's long time Prime Minister, JosephineMira, decided to resign from their role as PM on August 12, 2022 due to burnout from holding the position for so long. President Webb appointed tz_scion to run with him to become the next Prime Minister. They won that election as well, and tz_scion still holds the Prime Minister position today.

Webb ran unopposed on May 30, 2022, and therefore, automatically won. He immediately got to work after his victory by properly establishing the first government of Melonia by co-writing the City Constitution of Melonia, along with other officials. He also co-wrote the Homeland Protection Act and the Building Standards Act, which got passed unanimously by the Senate the very next day, on June 1st.

He started the procedure of creating and naming streets, and keeping records of what people, businesses and nations were occupying each lot. During the first Senate meeting, he began the standard of the Mayor acting as meeting clerk, writing down all votes and events that occur during the meetings.

After this meeting, he also began the standard of writing a Senate Meeting Summary, which was made to inform the citizens of Melonia about everything that occurs in each Senate meeting, from laws passed to upcoming referendums to special votes made by the Senate on certain issues. This is not done too much anymore in the Republic government, instead being replaced with a simple Discord announcement or Twitter post.

On May 31, 2022, the Senate voted unanimously to begin diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Taladosia, another nation on another Minecraft server. Once this had passed, the Mayor immediately began talks with Taladosia's chief diplomat Bannerman. Webb welcomed Bannerman to the city soon after, and took him for a tour around the city.

Webb has, with Kaiser Tava and Razvañdhiej Bannerman (who was also formerly a member of Parliament in Melonia), created an official treaty between the two nations in order to more officially solidify how relations work between both nations.

Webb has continued to strengthen relations with Cieurnia. He struck a deal with them to allow them to occupy some land on the Server of Melonia in exchange for protecting Melonia. While the protection deal is no longer a thing, the land still exists and is owned by the Cieurns. This land became a Cieurnish demejan (fully controlled by the Cieurnish empire) called Najtraunas.

On October 16, 2022, Melonia engaged with a war against the Cieurns in Najtraunas now called the One Hour War, due to its short length. The Melonian Legion, under former Minister of State JosephineMira's command, burned down bridges and killed several Najtraunians.

After agreeing to a peace deal with Bannerman, the Cieurnish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Webb immediately ordered Prime Minister Scion to fire JosephineMira for causing a bloody war with a good ally. For more information on the war itself, see the article.

Since the fallout of the One Hour War, Webb has worked to restore Cieurno-Melonian relations by agreeing to give up more land for Najtraunas, to provide resources to them, and pledged to negotiate a brand new treaty with the Cieurns, which is still a work-in-progress.

Webb called the first ever Senate Emergency Meeting on June 1, 2022 to discuss an issue in the business district where Mexican3636 had built a farm in the river that was blocking the entire waterway, preventing boats from sailing there. He led this meeting due to the Vice Mayor being unavailable, and the Senate decided unanimously to cut a 3-block wide hole in the center of the farm to allow boat traffic to flow through.

President Webb pushed hard for the creation of an official map of Melonia, detailing the locations of streets and buildings. This map was officially first created by Webb on June 16, 2022. It has been updated extensively since, which shows the huge expansion of Melonia over a small amount of time.

The President pushed for an official naturalization act soon after the formation of Melonia, and one was finally passed on June 16, 2022. He has used this bill to welcome several more citizens to the Republic of Melonia since its passing, including Simbad, who is now the governor of Najtraunas.

President Webb was strongly in support of enacting a takeover of the entire world (except the Cieurnish colony Najtraunas) and naming the land the Republic of Melonia. This nation uses a semi-presidential system. In this system, a citizen elects two people for the two positions, the same as the City government, a President and a Member of Parliament to represent them. The President appoints a Prime Minister, who is head of the cabinet, and then the PM appoints the Ministers to run the cabinet, which are approved by the Parliament. The Parliament approves the Prime Minister.

The President is head-of-state, mostly doing things like executing foreign affairs, giving speeches, being allowed to expunge criminals, etc, etc, while the Prime Minister runs the day-to-day affairs of the government, and more directly affects citizens. The Parliament can kick the Prime Minister or any Cabinet members out at any time with a majority “vote of no confidence”.

This support led at first to the renaming of all government positions to match the potential new government, which is why Webb is now titled “President” instead of Mayor. He then pushed for the Constitution of the Republic of Melonia to be formed. This Constitution is over 24 pages long, which is why it took a couple of months for the Constitution to finally be ratified, on August 21, 2022, officially beginning the Republic of Melonia phase.

The President mainly plans on expanding Melonia to the new territories, such as Agronia and Sjafardyn, bringing more citizens into the Republic, establishing a courthouse building for the judiciary, and further expanding his political party, the Melonian Representative Party.

Another major plan that Webb has is to work with Cieurnia to form an all-new currency system using a Discord bot to manage money. This would form a common currency between the two nations, currently named the ducat. This bot will allow government and company bank accounts to exist, which are not possible with the current Minecraft plugin system. This will also allow the exchanging of currency between Melonia and Cieurnia, allowing Melonian businesses to run in Najtraunas and vice versa.

President Michael Webb, along with Prime Minister and Former Senator/M.P. Scion and M.P. cstro, established the Melonian Representative Party on June 29, 2022, in response to former M.P. Bannerman establishing his own party. His party proclaims that they are “pro-Constitution, pro-democracy and aim to keep Melonia as a representative democracy,” according to the official political party filing. They also aim to “expand Melonian progress, infrastructure, and culture throughout the server, […] [and] to keep Melonia as one whole city instead of sectioned off areas based on culture.”

TheRandomMelon has established a house at 3 Main Street. He has also established a business called MelonMart, which sells many general items, but mainly building blocks such as oak logs and stone bricks.
